Founded in 2018 by a team of designers and cartographers, NARBO creates inspiring products featuring carefully curated maps of iconic cities. The NARBO Name
Narbo, or present day Narbonne, France, was the first Roman colony outside Italy established by Julius Caesar. It was, and still is, a major crossroad in the South of France. Our founders visited the region, and were inspired to walk on a section of the excavated old Roman road, the Via Domitia, that connected Italy to Spain along the French Mediterranean coast. While touching the stones, we could not help imagining all the ancient memories that were made over these polished rocks: traders hauling their goods, soldiers marching along with their shields, curious travelers visiting exotic foreign places…
It was the Roman roads that put the city of Narbo on the map of ancient Rome. Then and now, humans build roads to connect faraway peoples. Roads create endless possibilities.
